FRP storage tank is a kind of non-metallic composite material tank made of resin and glass fiber. The service life of FRP storage tank is closely related to its installation foundation and standardized operation. Regular manufacturers have their own set of technical guidance schemes from design to installation and use, and all aspects of details have strict implementation standards to ensure the super long service life of FRP storage tanks.
Because the FRP storage tank is wound as a whole, the strength against positive pressure is relatively strong, and the ability against negative pressure is relatively weak. Especially those FRP tanks over 2000mm. Most of the quality accidents of steel tanks are due to the negative pressure inside the FRP tank due to the blockage of the exhaust hole or exhaust hole during the pumping process of the steel tank, resulting in the damage of internal suction. Therefore, it is very important for the service life of FRP storage tank to keep the vent open or keep the atmospheric pressure inside the steel tank.
Operation steps for air tightness test of FRP storage tank:
The FRP storage tank shall be tested for air tightness before use. The specific operation steps are as follows:
(1) After the pressure rises to 50% of the test pressure, keep it for 10min, check all welds and connecting parts of the spherical tank, and continue to increase the pressure after confirming that there is no leakage.
(2) After the pressure of FRP tank rises to the test pressure, keep it for 10min, brush all welds and connecting parts with soapy water for inspection, and it is qualified if there is no leakage. In case of leakage, the air tightness test shall be carried out again after treatment.
(3) The pressure shall be relieved slowly. During air pressure test or air tightness test, pay attention to the change of ambient temperature at any time and monitor the reading of pressure gauge to prevent overpressure.
