At high temperature, there will be some situations on the FRP storage tank. Will the FRP storage tank deform at high temperature?
The FRP tank wall is simply from inside to outside and consists of three layers: inner lining layer, structural layer and outer surface layer:
(1) Lining layer: it is composed of resin rich layer and intermediate layer. The resin content is more than 90%, and its thickness is usually 2.5 ~ 3.5mm. This layer has good air tightness and high resin content, which mainly plays the role of corrosion resistance and permeability resistance.
(2) Structural layer: that is, the strength layer, which is made of twistless glass fiber roving and impregnated with resin. The resin content is 50% to 60%. Its thickness is calculated according to product specifications and load conditions.
(3) Outer surface layer: also known as the surface layer of storage tank. The resin content is greater than 90%. After the storage tank is wound, the coating treatment shall be done, and ultraviolet absorbent shall be added to the resin to slow down the aging.
The FRP tank body is slightly deformed and is prone to leakage under specific conditions, which puts forward high requirements for the manufacture of FRP tank. The leakage of FRP storage tank mainly occurs at the assembly joint. During assembly, the head and the liner of the cylinder shall be well butted. It is recommended to install the assembly ring at the overlapping inner diameter to make the butt joint flat. Grind the inside and outside of the joint, and the grinding width shall not be less than 300mm. First fill the joint with mastic, then paste the joint with glass fiber felt and resin, and then reinforce the inside and outside.
